FREEDOM
Meet Freedom – a 16-year-old quarter horse who, despite her strong-willed nature, was deemed useless as a brood mare in Oklahoma. With just one day left before being sent to the slaughterhouse – a fate that befalls nearly 100,000 horses annually – Freedom was rescued by one of our dedicated volunteers at All the Pretty Horses. Transported from a North Texas kill pen to our beautiful barn by the bay, Freedom was
given a new lease on life. Her name symbolizes the freedom she gained from a life of uncertainty and despair, and now serves as a beacon of hope for those seeking to overcome challenges such as PTSD, autism, anxiety, and other issues. Freedom has become an integral part of our healing herd, and her unwavering strength
and influence have helped countless individuals break free from the bonds that once held them back. We are proud to have Freedom as part of our mission to provide therapeutic experiences to those in need, and we are grateful for her inspiring story of survival and resilience.
TIMBER
Meet Timber – a striking 12-year-old gelding who embodies both strength and playfulness. Rescued from Louisiana, he now leads the herd at All the Pretty Horses. Timber's captivating personality shines through as he effortlessly balances leadership with a mischievous sense of humor. One of Timber's favorite pastimes is using his handsome lips to open the feed room door, much to everyone's amusement. He's also been known to flip over
the hay table, leaving us all wondering who's responsible. Timber's antics never fail to brighten our day, but it's his commanding presence and unwavering confidence that truly make him a standout among our equine.
SAM
We are thrilled to introduce you to Sam – a gentle and sensitive soul who began his journey with All the Pretty Horses as a frightened and timid 10-year-old gelding. Upon his arrival, Sam exhibited head-shy behavior and was easily spooked, indicating that his early training may not have been a positive experience. Despite his initial apprehension, Sam quickly became a beloved member of our herd. With patience, care, and love, our team has helped Sam overcome his fears and build trust with humans. Today, he serves as a potent reminder that healing from personal setbacks and issues is not only possible, but that it can lead to a brighter future as leaders in our families, workplaces, and communities.
